What is Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a health care profession concerned with human function and movement.

Physiotherapy matters Ltd specialise in musculoskeletal aspects which concentrates on muscles, bones, joints, nerves, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and spinal discs.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy utilises the basic sciences of anatomy, physiology and Biomechanics as background theory in the assessment and management of patients.

With this knowledge, assessments of the condition can be carried out and specific treatment methods can be used to aid recovery of symptoms such as Arthritis, stiff joints, neck/back pain, headaches, sports injuries and muscle strains.

Physiotherapy is a non-invasive, medicine free therapy which has proved to be extremely valuable to today's growing number of musculoskeletal conditions.

Professional Bodies?

Physiotherapy matters Ltd is a member of many professional bodies, the most fundamental being the CSP.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is the professional, educational and trade union body for the UK's 40,000 chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and assistants.

‘The CSP is concerned with protecting members' interests and helping them to achieve the best possible patient care. ...members use techniques to help muscles and joints work to their full potential. Treatments include exercise programmes to improve mobility and strengthen muscles; and manipulation, mobilisation and massage to reduce pain and stiffness. Physiotherapists also have an important role to play in rehabilitation, such as helping people who have had strokes to relearn basic movements. But physiotherapists don't just offer treatment; their advice can help prevent problems returning or even recurring in the first place.' CSP.

Physiotherapy matters Ltd adopt a professional, yet informal approach to the assessment and treatment of patients, and all staff maintain the highest standard of education, training and continual professional development in order to provide a comprehensive Physiotherapy service.
