Nick achieved his BSc in Physiotherapy from Northumbria University in 2004. After working in City Hospitals Sunderland for 2 years he focused his musculoskeletal skills and began working for a private physiotherapy company offering care within GP surgeries and in the workplace. Alongside his current role at Physiotherapy Matters Nick is a senior lecturer on the Physiotherapy programme at Teesside University.
In 2011 he completed his MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. This has since enabled him to work in the NHS as a Clinical Specialist in Physiotherapy which involves offering specialist treatments such as joint and soft tissue injections. He is also trained in the use of acupuncture and uses a variety of manual therapy skills to assist patients in achieving their goals.
Nick believes in offering patients a choice of treatments that have been demonstrated to be evidence based and effective. He regularly updates his training and has lectured to various audiences on his special clinical interests. He has fulfilled the role of research officer and chairman for the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists with an interest in Orthopaedic Medicine & Injection Therapy and is the co-founder and chairman of the North East Musculoskeletal Society. In 2017 he was awarded the inaugural and prestigious award of the North East Chartered Society of Physiotherapist member of the year.
He’s a keen sportsman and values the importance of exercise in maintaining both physical and mental wellbeing. He has worked with a number of athletes from varying sports and spent 5 years working with Newcastle United academy players.
