Since Dr Catterson qualified from Newcastle University medical school in 1999, he has worked within professional sport for the last 15 years. He became full time Club Doctor at Newcastle United FC in 2009, and during this time has also maintained his skills as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine.
He has worked with a wide range of sportsmen and women in a number of different sports, supporting athletes in such events as the World University Games, the Great North Run and the Commonwealth Games.
