Musculoskeletal Training for GP’s and Nurse Practitioners
Physiotherapy Matters can offer bespoke MSK training to meet the demands of patients presenting with Musculoskeletal disorders in Primary Care. These sessions are pitched at a level to enable first contact clinicians to assess and manage patients safely in short appointment times.
The sessions can be delivered within GP practices, our head office site in Gosforth or suitable premises close to the practice. The duration, content and time of these workshops are adapted to meet your requirements, such as lunch and learn or out of clinic hours to suit your practice’s needs.
In the current climate of long waiting times for MSK / Physio services, it is even more important that MSK cases are managed effectivly and safely in primary care and in turn manage referral numbers into such services.

- Shoulder Assessment and Management
- Knee Assessment and Management
- Low Back Pain Assessment and Management
- Arthritis Advice and Management
- Spinal red flag screening
- Musculoskeletal soft tissue and joint Injection Therapy update courses (Half Day & Full Day)
The content delivered is in accordance with the most up to date evidence base and aligned where appropriate to national guidance like NICE and the Department of Health.
All sessions are delivered by Clinical Specialist level Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who have extensive MSK work experience and are still practicing clinically so understand the current challenges faced within healthcare and in particular NHS Primary Care.
A rolling program of sessions can be arranged or one off training based on your teams training needs or clinical cases seen. We included case studies and participant engagement to ensure content is practical and relevant.
The sessions are followed up with the presentation slides and feedback surveys to complete to ensure learning objectives are met. Training certificates can also be provided to count towards CPD hours and demonstrate how the practice is ensure the team are kept up to date with an area that is not always their specialism.
