The Manual Handling Training we provide lasts approximately 3-3.5hours and includes:

  • Personal and work-related risk factors and how to modify them to reduce risk of injury

DSE User Training

This session is aimed at employees who spend a lot of time working at a computer. The training lasts 2-2.5 hours and includes:

  • Costs of inappropriate DSE use to individuals and industry
  • Health and safety law including the legal obligations of employees
  • Information on how to manage acute injuries-how to self manage and when to seek help
  • Personal and work-related risk factors and how to modify them to reduce risk of injury
  • The importance of general fitness including example exercises

  • Workstation ergonomics and posture
  • Reporting
  • Tips for working from home – optional.

DSE Assessor Training courses

Our DSE Assessor Training courses teach nominated employees from a business how to carry out safe, effective DSE Workstation Assessments. The training are usually split into 2 sessions, each half a day in length to allow adequate time between sessions to put into practice learning from session 1. The training includes

  • Stages of injury prevention in the work place.
  • Work-relevant health issues and Musculoskeletal Disorders
  • Relevant Legislation

Management of Musculoskeletal Disorders in the Workplace

This session is aimed at managers/supervisors, HR and health and safety team members.  The training programme lasts approximately 3 hours and includes:

  • Costs of musculoskeletal disorders to industry
  • Relevant legislation
  • Anatomy and pathology of common work-related musculoskeletal disorders
  • Pain science
  • Acute injury management
  • Personal and work-related risk factors to developing musculoskeletal pain and optimal management of these
  • Workstation Ergonomics
  • Key principles of manual handling

  • are ran by an experienced specialist occupational health physiotherapist who is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE).
