Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and GDPR regulations give you the right to obtain information held by public authorities, unless there are good reasons to keep it confidential. The aim of the Freedom of Information Act is to promote a culture of openness and accountability amongst public authorities by providing people with rights of access to the information held by them. These rights will facilitate better understanding of how public authorities carry out their duties, why they make the decisions they do and how they spend public money.
