Physiotherapy Matters celebrate a unique award for our Clinical Manager

December 11, 2017

Physiotherapy Matters are delighted to announce that our Clinical Manager Nick Livadas has recently been awarded the North East Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)  member of the year. Nick was announced as the winner at a recent North East CSP network event and was presented with the award by the CSP Chief Executive Karen Middleton.

The inaugural award for the Member of the Year category looks to acknowledge a physiotherapist who has gone above and beyond what is normally expected in their delivery of services to patients. Nominations were received from both patients, colleagues and local GP’s.

Over the last year Nick has organised a number of CSP events which aim to promote the benefits of physiotherapy to the wider population. These events provided by Physiotherapy Matters physiotherapists have included presentations and exercise classes as part of Older Peoples Day, several WorkOut@Work events to business in the North East and Back Pain Myth Busters events at local council offices. He has also represented the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy at the national Wellbeing at Work Conference where he encouraged an audience of HR professionals to see the value in investing in physiotherapy services in the workplace.

In addition to his management workload Nick takes great pride in offering a quality clinical service and has received several testimonials from patients which were reviewed as part of his award.  Nick Sandeman, a recent patient commented:

“Nick was calm, professional and re-assuring and really tuned into my needs and circumstances. After a recent back injury Nick helped me get back on track and I’ve since been able to return to martial arts with my kids and start training for the Great North Swim.”

Nick is also the founder of the North East Musculoskeletal Society, a not for profit organisation with the aim of offering CPD to professional in the North East with an interest in Musculoskeltal disorders. His passion for clinical excellence is typified by his commitment to setting up this group and supported by a committee he now takes great pride in the Society and how with appropriate CPD opportunities patients will ultimately benefit from improved clinical services in the region.

On his award Nick commented:

“I was truly honoured and humbled to win this award. I work with and have worked alongside some amazing physiotherapists that offer so much to patients to improve their lives. I am passionate about physiotherapy and the benefit it can offer society and would like to thank Physiotherapy Matters for supporting me.”
