Physiotherapy practice expands into new facility

October 31, 2014

A well-established local physiotherapy provider is celebrating its eighth year in business with a move to a high-profile new location in Gosforth that will also see the organisation create several new jobs.

Physiotherapy Matters Limited’s new headquarters at the Regent Centre will see it double its therapy space compared to its current site at Melton Park in Gosforth.

The move will enable the company to grow its customer base, allowing it to help more people with musculoskeletal and work related injuries, and occupational health problems.

As part of the expansion, Physiotherapy Matters will be taking on two additional physiotherapists and a business manager, taking its staff count to 12. In addition, the company will maintain its other outreach clinics in Newcastle city centre and Darras Hall in Ponteland.

The growing company was established in 2006 by experienced practitioner Neeraj Nayyar after spending several years as an academy physiotherapist at Newcastle United as well as time at the renowned Nuffield Hospital in Jesmond.

Physiotherapy Matters’ managing director, Neeraj Nayyar, said: “This is a very exciting time for our organisation, our team and of course our loyal customers. The new site at Regent Centre offers fantastic transport links and additional space that will hugely benefit our occupational health and private clients.

“Over the years, we have built up a solid reputation for helping office workers with postural and back complaints, people with chronic problems and those suffering from muscle or joint injuries.

“With this additional capacity, we’ve also been able to create new jobs at the practice, which will allow us to take on and indeed assist even more patients in and around Newcastle.”

To coincide with the opening of its new practice, the company is planning a week-long launch event that will involve free 15-minute consultations and guidance on keeping healthy and active, including advice on sports injuries and work related occupational health.

Physiotherapy Matters has now assisted thousands of patients in the North-East with its wellbeing services, which has been driven by its loyal customer base.

Its team includes several experienced chartered physiotherapists all with relevant training in their respective specialist areas including sports, scoliosis, Pilates, headaches and acupuncture.

In recent years, the company has also grown its offsite occupational therapy division, which has seen it help many large companies to look after their staff across the region including Virgin Money, Newcastle International Airport and DB Region Tyne and Wear, which runs the Metro.
