Exercise of the Month

Desk based – Neck Stretches

This exercise is beneficial for individuals who spend extended hours at a desk. It’s crucial to remember to take regular breaks while sitting at a desk to avoid health problems and maintain good posture.

To perform the desk based neck stretch:

  1. Make sure feet are firmly on the floor
  2. With your opposite hand , place on the opposite side of head. e.g. Right hand on Left side of Head
  3. Gently push your head towards your shoulder

Hold this position for 15-30 seconds and repeat on the other side.

Additionally, setting up an ergonomic workstation with proper chair height, desk placement, and monitor alignment can help prevent strain and discomfort.

Here at Physiotherapy Matters, we offer occupational health physiotherapy services, which include DSE assessments. These assessments are essential to ensure that your workspace is comfortable and appropriate, ultimately supporting your overall health while at your job role.
